El Dr. Alberto J. Abulafia was born in Buenos Aires in May 1962. He received his medical degree from the School of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires, in Argentina. Following medical school, Dr. Abulafia completed a General Surgery Residency at the Santojanni Hospital between 1987 and 1989, and a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency in The Ramos Mejia Hospital between 1989 and 1992, where he was promoted to Resident Director and Instructor in 1993 and 1994 respectively. At the present time he is part of the staff of Plastic Surgery Services at this Hospital.

In 1993 he moved to the United States, where he completed a thorough training and improvement in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery skills at the Mount Sinai Hospital of New York, and in 1998 at The Facial Aesthetic Surgery Center with Dr. Bruce Connell in Los Angeles, California.

El Dr. Abulafia is a Specialist Doctor in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, Certified by el Ministerio de Salud Publica en 1993 and by The Argentinean Medical association And the Argentinean Society for Aesthetic Plastic and restoration Surgery (SACPER).

Dr. Abulafia often attends national and international seminars and symposiums and is a member of many scientific and medical societies including Argentinean Medical Association, Buenos Aires Plastic Surgery Society as well as the, Argentinean Society for Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (SACPER).
